what it takes, I'll get there.

Legion of Mary
      Probationary Member April 14, 2012
The Legion of Mary was founded in Dublin, Ireland on September 7, 1921. It is a lay catholic oganisation whose members are giving service to the church on a voluntary basis in almost every country. The object of the Legion of Mary is the glory of God through the holiness of its members developed by prayer and active co- operation in Mary's and the church's work.
The unit of the Legion of Mary is called a Praesidium, which holds a weekly meeting, where  prayer is intermingled with reports and discussion. Persons who wish to join the Legion must apply for membership in a Praesidium.
The Legion sees as its priority the spiritual and social welfare of each individual. The members participate in the life of the parish through visitation of families, the sick. both in their homes and in hospitals and through collaboration in every apostolic and missionary undertaking sponsored by the parish.
Every Legionary is required to carry out a weekly apostolic work in the spirit of faith and in union with Mary.

LAUVIAH --  My Guardian Angel
(June 11 - 15 )

This period of time is governed by the Angel Lauviah, who is a member of the Order of Thrones and an Angel of Invention. Lauviah influences musicians, poets, savants and great personages, being associated with knowledge and discoveries. This Angel also grants artistic and literary talent. Those who fall within the jurisdiction of Lauviah possess an active and original mind. They are also likely to be either artistically or musically talented. These are people who strive to make something of their lives, usually by capitalising on their own personal abilities. They are quick to spot good opportunities and adapt easily to change. Courtesy of Lauviah, such individuals are customarily blessed with protection against sadness, which enables them to bring happiness and joy into the lives of others through their positive spirit and creative gifts.

May 31, 2012

It's our anniversary today. 37 years of pain and bliss. But here I am, still aglow, kicking alive and never blue....

"When will I know I have enough?
and what will I do then?"
"Gather moments while you may,
Collect the dreams you dream today
  Will you remember...?
   the times of your life..."

I wish I have your pair of wings
Had them last night in my dreams
I was chasing butterflies
Till the sunrise broke my eyes..
Sometimes I wish I were an angel
That is lost in Paradise
I wish I will never open my eyes...
To realize I am here at Siem Reap
 Cambodia's ancient Paradise...

I  Love You
     For every beauty there is
        an eye to see it.

     For every truth there is
        an ear somewhere to
        hear it.

For every love there is a
        heart somewhere to
        receive it.

Will you love me in December
           as you do in May,

Will you love me in the good
      old fashioned way?

When my hair has all turned
        gray,
Will you kiss me then and say,
That you love me in December
      as you do in May?
          When I text you
          It means I miss you
          When I don't text you
          It means I'm waiting
          for you to miss me.

DO NOT REGRET
 GROWING OLDER
IT IS A PRIVILEGE
  DENIED  TO
  MANY......
L O V E

Love has fear in it
And guilt and misery.
and a special kind of hallucinating
    LONELINESS....
A Poem On Mothers' Day

How did you find the energy. Mom
To do all the things you did
To be teacher, nurse and counselor
To me, when I was a kid.

How did you do it all , Mom
Be a chauffeur, cook and friend
Yet find time to be a playmate
I just can't comprehend.

I see now it was love, Mom
That made you come whenever I'd call
Your inexhaustible love, Mom
And I thank you for it all.

A guy gets home, runs into his wife, slams the door and says... "Honey, pack your bags, I won the lottery!!" The wife says, "Wow! That's great!, I'm so happy!! Should I pack for the ocean or should I pack for the mountain?" He says, "I don't care. Just get out."

                                     AFTERGLOW

                                       by: Leny Lao

The sun silhouetted amid the mauve sunset
Making a run-around to delay its anticipated
                                                                     evanescence
Soon it will be dark, and out of one's vision
Crickets will sing and thus hoots owls.

Not even a trace of stars above the sky
But sleepy glow-worms shed their lights,
Sharing what they can offer to the night,
Giving warmth reflecting from the inside.

                                           And there "she" is ...
Trancidly adept in a world of emptiness
                                          Momentarily renouncing her existence
Affecting the uppermost level of her being
Deaden by the chaos in her brain.

Her long hair tousled by the October wind
Cold soft air pilfering sweet kisses on her skin,
But all of these pure endearment of nature,
                                           Goes deaf beyond recognition.

LONG DISTANCE GRANDMA:
I'm asking myself, why my children have to move? Or at least why did they have to take my grand kids with them? I may have taken for granted that my children lived nearby. But the mobility of our society has robbed me of my grandchildren, and now I'm a long-distance grandma.

I'm trying not to be too dramatic about this, but I can't help but wonder how can I bake cookies, make the most colorful banana split and kiss sweaty little faces at long distance? I want to listen to my grandchildren's clamors and share their joys. I want to attend every school program and point out my grandchild to the stranger sitting next to me.

I fear that my grandchildren won't even know me --- or me them. But all is not lost! Remember the song that says, " Ain't no mountain high enough... to keep me from you"?.Excuse the bad grammar, but there ain't no mountain high enough or valley low enough to keep me from having a loving and fun relationship with my grandchildren.

Love will find a way. Love will travel. It maybe challenging to communicate my love to my grand children, but it will be possible. What, with the modern technology nowadays, everything will be possible. Camera, internet, phone and even the outmoded postal means.

Above all, I know and don't forget that God is in control. My relationship with my grandchildren will be different and unique, but it will be OK. I can do it!!!

FORGIVENESS........
Anyone can hold a grudge, but it takes a person
with character to forgive. When you forgive, you
release yourself from a painful burden.
Forgiveness doesn't mean what happened was OK,
and it doesn't mean that person should still be
welcome in your life. It just means you have made
peace with the pain, and are ready to let it go......
